Choosing Your Next Security Monitor
Images of a dark dank room with one CRT monitor come to mind when we think of a security monitoring station. But with the decreased cost of flat panels and the increased resolution of cameras they are now optimal for viewing your system. Below are a few points to consider when evaluating your next monitor:

- Good resolution (1024 x 768 or better) - Better resolution will help in the ability to identify persons or objects and finer details.
- Decent brightness and anti-glare surface - This will help make the image visable even in daylight
- Correct input connections (VGA, RCA, Co-axial) - Check the video outputs on your DVR/Multiplexer to make sure you have the correct inputs
- Large enough size to be seen from seat location - Consider the viewing distance and angle and amount of cameras displayed at once
- Consider environment factors (Weatherproof, Ruggedized, Rack-Mount)
